Entrance Gate

2024

Created for a Vinyard in Alicante, Spain

Disclaimer: This is a project from the time of my internship in Spain. The design was made by an external Architect.

During my time in Spain, working with my friends from ‘Forja Toledo’, I was given the daunting task of building this truly massive main entrance gate for a Vinyard. The meandering shapes are all bent and forged from solid 40mm square stock, making this gate weigh around 800 kg overall. Simply managing the 50 kg heavy individual bars was a challenge in its own right.

Where the lines intersected the bars were cut crosswise and lengthwise, then welded back together for a seamless interaction.
